Ian assists attorneys under powers of attorneys for property and personal care and also represents individuals seeking to be appointed as guardians of other’s property. In addition to private clients, Ian also acts as agent for the Children’s Lawyer representing the financial interests of minors and the Public Guardian and Trustee protecting the financial interest of incapable adults. Areas covered include:

• legal opinions and advice to trustees, beneficiaries, and attorneys under powers of attorney

• will interpretations

• guardianship orders to manage the property of minors or persons who are incapable

• dependent’s relief claims to provide support for persons from an estate

• dealing with issues of testamentary capacity and undue influence

• representation when trustees or attorneys need to have their accounts approved by the Court
